MORE STENOGRAPHERS WANTED
Ottawa, July 9. The Government has moved to over- ; come a serious shortage of stenographers and typists in Ottawa by providing for payment of special allowances, set ting up training iacilities for persons already employed and permitting payment of transportation expenses over 10 dollars for stenographers and typists assigned from outside points. The action was taken on recommendation of Finance Minister James Ueley, who said the shortage of stenographers and typists was more than 300 and would "rapidly grow worse.”
