CANADIAN MILITARY APPOINTMENT
(Rec. 10.45 a.m.) Rugby, Sept 1. It was officially announced at Ottawa to-day that Major-General Pearkes, now commander of the First Division overseas, will soon return to Canada to assume the important appointment of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Pacific Command. —8.0. W.
