At least three enemy fighters were shot down and others damaged. British destroyers rained shells on tank repair workshops and store dumps at El Daba in the early hours of this morning, according to an agency correspondent aboard a British destroyer in the Eastern Mediterranean. —8.0. W. London, Aug. 29. A Middle East communique states : "On the night of 27th August . our patrols were active on the whole front. Enemy patrols and working parties were engaged and harassed. There were artillery exchanges in one sector. Yesterday there was nothing to report from our land forces. Our fighter-bombers continue to attack enemy vehicles in the central sector and there was increased enemy air activity. Junkers were shot down by our fighters near Alexandria last night ”
