APPOINTMENTS IN SENIOR RANKS PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED j The following appointments and promotions of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces are gazetted:— STAFF Captain (temp. Major) F. 11. Spark, Royal Artillery, is appointed Brigade Major of an anti-aircraft brigade and is granted the local rank of Major. Captain (temp. Major) M. J. Morris, Royal Artillery, is appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade. Army Headquarters. and is granted the local rank , of Major. Captain (temp. Major) W. P. McGrath. ! Royal Artillery, is appointed General j Staff Officer. 2nd Grade, Army Headquarters, and is granted the local rank, of Major. Captain (temp. Major) P. R. Henderson. Royal Artillery, is appointed Gener- l al Staff Officer. 2nd Grade. Army Headquarters, and is granted the local rank | of Major. Captain (temp. Major) C. D. B. Camp- [ ling. Royal Artillery, is appointed Bri- | gade Major of an anti-aircraft brigade, and is granted the local rank of Major, j N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF Major C. L. Meredith-Kaye to be j Lieut.-Colonel (Temp.). TERRITORIAL ARMY N.Z. Corps of Signals: Captain (Temp. Major) H. C. Caldwell is appointed to command a divisional signals unit, and is granted the rang of Lieut.-Col. (temp.). N.Z. Infantry.—North Auckland Regiment: Major H. T. Atkinson, E.D., is appointed to command a battalion, and is granted the rank of Lieut.-Col. (temp.); Major F. G. Dill, E.D., 2nd N.Z.E.F., is appointed to command a battalion and is granted the rank of Lieut.-Col. (temp.) Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast Regiment. N.Z. Medical Corps: Major F. G. Barrowclough, M. 8., Ch.B., 2nd N.Z.E.F., is posted for duty with a field ambulance. 2nd N.Z.E.F. Major (Temp. Lieut.-Colonel) C. N. Watson, M.C., Southern Infantry, is appointed to command an infantry training depot. Lieut.-Colonel J. N. Peart, Northern Infantry, is appointed to command a battalion.
Major (temp. Lieut-Colonel) C. N. Watson, M.C., Southern Infantry, relinquishes command of an infantry training depot and is appointed to command an advanced base.
Captain (Temp. Major) J. H. Kempthorne, Southern Infantry, is appointed an instructor at a staff schooL Captain (Temp. Major) T. C. Campbell, M.C., N.Z. Infantry, to be Major. Captain (Temp. Major) I. A. Hart, Central Infantry, is appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, of a base camp, and is granted the rank of major. Major D. K. McLaughlan, Northern Infantry, is appointed second in command of an advanced base. Captain E. J. Horwood, N.Z. Divisional Signals, while employed as an instructor in a junior staff school is to be granted the rank of Major (Temp.). W. G. Tweedy, M.8.E., is appointed N.Z. Red Cross Commissioner, Middle East, and granted the honorary rank of Major. Captain G. Peek, E.D., N.Z. Medical Corps, is granted the rank of Major. Major H. W. D. Blake, N.Z. Artillery, is granted the rank of Lieut.-Colonel (Temp.).
Captain G. A. Possin, Central Infantry, is granted the rank of Major (Temp.).
