FRENCH VOLUNTEERS

DEPARTURE FOR RUSSIAN FRONT London, Aug. 27. Lyons radio announced that for the first time since the Armistice the tricolour flew from the dome of the Hotel des Invalides, Paris, on the departure of the first French volunteers for the Russian front. A tricolour standard was presented to the battalion and the “Marseillaise” was played. Admiral Darlan, Deputy Prime Minister. Count de Brinon, Vichy representative in occupied France and Herr Abetz, German Ambassador in Paris were present—P.A.
