INTERCESSION
LIGHT AND PEACE
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwelt in the land of deep darkness, upon them hath the light shined. For the yoke of his burden and the staff of his shoulder Thou hast broken as in the day of Midian. For all the armour of the armed man in the tumult, and the garments rolled in blood, shall even be for burning, for fuel of fire. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given. ... Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end. (Isaiah ix : 2ff)
Merciful Father, we thank Thee for all Thy mercies that are new every morning, and Thy compassions that fail not. We are humbly grateful for every deliverance, for every evidence of Thine outstretched arm, for every sign of Thy protesting hand. We thank Thee for every inspiration of faith, hope, courage, and love, and for the vision of a better world wherein dwelleth righteousness. May we know that Thy wise purposes are over all, and that Thou canst even use the sin of man, over which Thou dost grieve, to bring them to fruition. May Thy Kingdom come; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
