JOEY RULES THE HOUSE

Joey is flying round the porch screeching. He was loose nearly all yesterday and when the time came for him to be locked up in his cage he didn’t like it. However, usually he will hop in when wc want him to, without any fuss or bother. This morning he was loose in the kitchen and was pecking at two pieces of lemon that were lying in the bench. When Mum thoughtlessly put her hand on one piece he flew at her hand and pecked it. In fact, he didn’t let go until compelled to. At times he is rather a savage little fellow. He is very inquisitive. Now he is on the writing desk trying to ooke his head into the inkwell. Fay Baynes, Tahunanui.
