NOVEL WAY OF RAISING MO^EY (By Telegraph—Press Association! WELLINGTON. This Dav. Leslie John Withers (22), according to the story told in the Police Court, inserted an advertisement in a paper for a taxi driver and gave three men the position. He look from each £7 as a fidelity bond and was about to enter into a similar arrangement with . a fourth, but did not get through, with it. The three men became dissatisfied, and in response to the request of one ho returned him his £7. In the ease ot the other two, however, lie used the money for his own purposes. lie was found guilty of theft and given a month's gaol.
