SUBSIDY ON WAGES
REFUSED BY UNEMPLOYAIENT BOARD

In view of all the circumstances connected with the flax industry, the Board is of the opinion it would be inadvisable to subsidise the wages of ilaxmill workers at the present stage. Ibis official advice was received by the AI ay or of Shannon in a reply to a deputation which met the Unemployment Board on Bth January to discuss the question of subsidising the wages of llaxworkers.
