FOR HEALTH
The Canadian Department of Health points out that in order to supply our needs we should plan our daily diet to include items from each of the following list of foods: — For growth and repafr—proteins (meat, eggs, fish, cheese, milk, and nuts).
For blood —iron (egg yolk, green, leafy vegetables, treacle, milk, dried fruits). For teeth and hone calcium (oranges, spinach, and other greens, milk, cheese, whole grain, cereals, whole grain breads). For health—iodine (salt water fish, green vegetables, milk, butter cranberries).
For energy—sugars and starches (cereals, breads, potatoes, macaroni, and spaghetti, fruits and vegetables, sugars and syrups). For heat and energy—fats (animal fats, fat of meat, cream, butter, cod liver oil, and olive oil).
