Declaring that from 500,000 to 000,000 Communists are organised under leaders who are directed from Moscow and are agitating for the overthrow of political and economic systems in America, the Fish Congressional Committee, following eight months’ study of the position, has issued fourteen recommendations to the House of Representatives entailing the most stringent measures of repression against Radicals ever advocated in the United States, either in times of peace or war. The recommendations range from the exclusion of all Communist literature from post ofliee mails to the punishment of Communists who spread rumours resulting in runs on banks and the exclusion of Soviet convictproduced goods, to the deportation of alien Communists and augmenting the secret service to cone with revolutionaries.
