SAVING WHEATGROWERS
GOVERNMENT PURCHASE OF FLOUR (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) . BRISBANE, 16th January. The Queensland Government has decided to acquire all the' flour in that State, the object being to save the wheatgrowers from ruin. Although this action is likely to cause flour and bread to rise in price the. Premier, Mr Moore, declares that it is justified in the circumstances. FIXING THE PRICE (Received 17tli January, 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Dunn, said that legislation would shortly be introduced fixing tlie price of wheat for local consumption at 4s a bushel.
