COMMERCIAL
PRICE OF WHEAT (By Telegraph-Special to ‘‘The Mail”) CHRISTCHURCH, 16th January. With the prices for practically every farm product showing very substantial reductions on the rates ruling a yearago, it will come as a pleasant surprise to wheatgrowers of New Zealand to learn that the wheat pool lias declared prices for forward delivery that show a comparatively small drop. Tuscan, the principal wheat grown in Canterbury, is quoted at 5s lOd f.0.b.. Lyttelton, as compared with 6s Id at the opening o f the 1930 season, and it is confidently expected in well-informed circles that unless wheatgrowers outside the pool panic in an attempt to realise quickly on their crops that price will be maintained.
