FREEZING INTERESTS
THE GISBORNE MERGER
(By Telegraph—Press Association)
GISBORNE. This Day. Following the recent fusion of the freezing interests of the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat Company and Nelson’s, Ltd., a further merging of interests has been decided on. with the object of lowering the costs of lightering. A new company will take over the plants of both concerns. Harbour improvements have allowed smaller coastal vessels to berth regularly and the demand for lightering services has fallen considerably.
