The merging of the Canadian wireless and cable systems into a single company to work in association with Imperial and International Communications Limited of Great Britain, was the subject of discussion on Monday lietwen the Prime Minister Mr Bennett, members of the Cabinet, and Sir Basil Blackett, chairman of llie British merger. The proposal by Sir Basil Blackett is that the two great" systems of Canada, via Canadian Pacific" and Canadian National Telegraphs, should become partners with the Imperial and International Commu-n'.eatic-us Ltd. in forming an overseas eommunie:-. lions con puny which will include the Canadian Marconi system. Sir Basil explained that liis company was formed following the Imperial Conference of 1928 for the purpose of bringing under one control the .cable and wireless systems of the Empire.
