MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED HEAD ON COLLISION (By Telegraph—Press Association) WHANGAREI, 13th January. At one o’clock this afternoon a young man named Eric Thomas Martel, of Norfolk street. Whangarei, aged about 24 years, when riding a motor cycle, came into head-on impact with a motor car near llukerenui and was killed instantly, his machine being reduced to tangled, wreckage. The front portion of the car was extensively damaged, but none of (lie four men occupants was injured. ANOTHER MISHAP MAN IN SERIOUS CONDITION AUCKLAND, 13th January. Serious injuries to their heads were received by Trevor Herbert (20), and Frank Gillard (17) of Papatoetoe, as the result of a collision between a motor cycle they were ridimr and a sedan motor car driven by Dr. Borrie, of Remuera, at the intersection of Erin street and the Great South road. Dr. Borrie escaped with a slight cut on a hand. Both the car and the cycle were damaged severely. Herbert’s condition is very serious.
