DOMINION TOURNAMENT FLAY AT AUCKLAND (By Teleerapli—Press Association) AUCKLAND, 13th January. The Dominion championship bowling tournament was resumed in fine, cool weather. After six rounds in the singles, the following two-lifers remained in: Sharp (Edendale), Smart (New Plymouth), Clarke (Carlton), Parsons (Ponsonby), De Launy (Epsom), with 25 onelifers. The most interesting event this morning was the meeting ot Clarke, champion of 1927, and Rigby (Dunedin), champion in 1922. Clarke, who had previouslv boatnn Luscombe (New 1v" moutli), 15-13 in a close game, beat Rigby 18-14. AUCKLAND, 33th January. After the second day’s play the following remain in the singles: Two lives, Parsons (Ponsonbv) ; one life each, Muston (Auckland), Bell, jun. (Hamilton), Kurmner (Auckland), Walker (A uckland.) MAITAI CLUB The following are the. rinks selected to represent the Maitai Club in the District Cup match, Motueka v. Maitai, on the latter’s green on Saturday next Aydou. P. Gibbs. I’crsiro, Logan (s) ; Guy, Fowler, T. Dee, Johnson (s) ; L. Forster, A. Gibbs, Stevens, McCoimsh (s); Russell, Keeeh, Frost. Stringer (s). Other members present will continue the Saturday Fours. A game was played on Monday evening between the holders —Gay, Kerch, Stringer, Tunnicliffe (s), and N. Watson, Vaughan, W. Watson, E. Snow (s). Ihe former won by 27 to 23. The next- challenge is from a Richmond rink skipped by W. Hockey.
