It is unlikely that the billiards championship will be played owing to the objection by Lindrun'v Davis, Newman and MeConaehy to the Council’s stipulation for woollen instead of napless cloth. Smith has been playing on woollen cloth the whole season and the others say that a sudden change is unfair to them. ,
