ROBOT FOR PLANTING SEEDLINGS
A machine has been, invented which ought to do much for agriculture. It can plant 50,000 seedlings in a day. It grasps the little plants by mechanical fingers carried on a band, and so they are taken to' a little furrow., made by thfj machine, and are promptly pressed into the soil. V ' • ■ It is said that an acre of land can be , planted with seedlings in about two hours by means of the machine. Here is another' hint of what is coming in the world of agriculture. - So far industrial progress has been chiefly made invthe manufacture of goods' and not in,-'the raising of food.
