THE VALUE OF ADVERTISING

The Hastings Borough Publicity Association (England), celebrated 15 years’ continuous advertising of the town as a health resort at the jubilee dinner. Sir William Crawford, member of the Empire Marketing Board, proposing the toast of the evening, said “There is no power in the business world better than good advertising. You have not only competition wtih other resorts, but competition in sport, and pleasure from every part of the world. People want more sport and better times in good boarding-ljouses and good hotels. I appeal to you to realise that advertising is a great force which the Government itself is using for the development of the people, and even for the development of Empire Free Trade.”
