NEVER HEARD OF PROHIBITION
John' Scliexnayder, an 82-year-old backwoodsman, lately told the Judge in the United States District Court a£ Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that he liad been making whisky for 50 years and had never heard of the prohibition laws.
Scliexnayder, who was barefooted, - and speaks only French, pleaded guilty through an interpreter to a chargd of - manufacturing intoxicating liquor. .. • The Judge placed him on probation/for five years.
