Herbert, formerly Supervisor of Telegraph Engineers, Nelson,' and latterly of the head office staff of the G.P.0., Wellington, has been appointed to the position of Supervisor, Telegraph Division, head office, Wellington. Among the guests at Wainui House ■ire: Mr G. L. Stewart and (Miss M. Stewart (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Bowles (Blenheim), Mrs Muff, Miss Curry and Miss Colwell (Christchurch), Miss B. Anderson (Waiau), Mr and Mrs V. Fletcher (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Bond (Christchurch). Owing to his continued indisposition >t-is unlikely that the Bishop of Nelson will be able to attend tjhe General Synod at Christchurch at which he was to have delivered the opening address.
