Last week we saw how Gwen, in her attempt to fish up the chest from the bottom of the river, received another cold bath. Of course, she felt very sorry for herself, and pretended that she was a very sick cat indeed. “I should not be surprised if I have a severe Cold,” she wailed, when she had settled herself comfortably in the garden. Richard and Ted looked very glum. You see, they wanted to get that chest into their possession.
