DOCTOR’S NO-BREAKFAST

Dr. W. F. Christie gave some facts about the prevention of obesity when he spoke at the Institute of Hygiene, Portland place, W., London, last month. He said: “The no-breakfast plan has much to commend it. One or two cups of coffee and milk, half and half, taken while dressing, will prevent the accumulation on a person of a pound of fat a week. Those who try this plan will find it easier if no visit is paid to the break-fast-room at all.” Dr. Christie i said a small luncheon would produce the same effect. “And, he added, “a day or two’s partial fasting occasionally, the diet consisting of three oranges every three hours and plenty of water, will do a person no end of good and give him a real sense of well-being.”
