Religious mania was lesponsible for a remarkable crime in a Berlin suburb when a municipal official, a member of a religious sect, whose followers claim to cure sickness by the application of cream cheese, brutally severed the head of his two-year-old son. When arrested he said: “I am Isaac, and my father Abraham sacrificed me to the Lord 4COO years ago. In my son I recognised the rein carnation of Abraham, so I killed him out of revenge.”
