MR LANG AND LOAN COUNCIL

The Premier, Mr Lang, announces that he is not attending next Tuesday’s important meeting of the Loan Council, nor will New South Wales be represented at- any future meetings. ALLOTMENT OF LOAN (Received Bth January, 9.5 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Commonwealth Treasury has allocated the £28,000,000 loan as follows: Commonwealth £18,527,000, New South Wales £2,469,000, Victoria £4,421,000, South Australia £2,484,000, Tasmania £99,000. Other States were not concerned in any maturing securities and therefore do not participate. The loan was £2,000,000 oversubscribed. This sum has not yet been allocated.
