REDUCING COSTS
AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIES (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received Bth January, 1.5 p.m.) PERTH, This Day. Representatives of the Pastoralists Association, Primary Producers’ Association, the Chamber of Mines, the Mining Association, and the Sawmillers’ Association had several conferences on the present economic crisis. The representatives were of opinion that unless prompt action was taken in regard to industries with a view to reducing costs, operations might have to cease. If this occurred it was considered a serious financial collapse throughout the CommonYvealth would he inevitable.
