AN IMPROVED TONE (United Press Association— By Eleotrlo Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY. sth January. The wool sales were resumed, when 10,614 bales were offered, of which 9,509 were sold, as well as 1,199 which were disposed of privately. The market showed an improved lone. Prices were equal to closing rates of the December series. For all merinos there was strong competition, chiefly from Japanese and German operators. Fair grades of crossbred were unchanged, while for coarse sorts there was a very restricted demand. Greasy merinos made 13|d.
