BUYING AND SELLING RATE (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, 4th January. The Bank of New South Wales announced that it will buy exchange telegraphic transfers on London at 115 Australian pounds for each £IOO at London, and it will sell telegraphic transfers on London at £lls 7s 6d Australian for each hundred required in London. Other insurances will be altered in accordance with these basic rates. The new rate which the bank quotes is an advance of £6 10s on the buying side and £6 7s 6d on the selling compared with the rates fixed by the Banks’ Conference, to take effect from October last. Other banks have not yet moved their rates.
