ON THE RANGE

NELSON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB AN ENJOYABLE SHOOT (By, Riflemanjj The Nelson Defence Rifle Club held a most enjoyable shoot at the Wakapuaka range last Saturday afternoon. The weather was somewhat boisterous at times, there being a strong rear wind blowing, accompanied by a scudding bank of foggy cloud which enveloped the hills at the head of the range, making visibility a little difficult. In spite of this, however, some good shooting was witnessed, the most prominent riflemen being W. Kenning, N.. Manssen and Ivin wood, who participated in a small prize list which was arranged by the men on the range. , . , The standard for 300 yards is 32; at 500 yards 33, and at 600 yards 32 a total' of 97 points. It will be seen that several members reached tihfr'se standards, particularly at 500 yards, where the shooting was of a high order. President F. Sharland and Rifleman P. Burn very kindly assisted with the marking and the thanks pf the Club are due to these gentlemen for acting in this capacity. Details of the scores are:—
