MARINES AMBUSHED
OPERATIONS AGAINST REBEL GENERAL (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) MANAGUA (Nicargua), Ist Jan. Eight United States marines were killed and two seriously wounded when they were ambushed by bandits said to have been operating in a new offensive under the rebel general Sandino. Marines have been lighting bandits almost weekly for months, but this is the first time for over a year that they have suiisred heavy losses.
