There is real danger in doing things for people instead of people doing things for themselves, writes Mr Snowden in “The Faith of Democrat,” one of a book of essays published by Benns. A selfreliant,’ self-respecting, independent people are rendered unreasonable by spoon feeding. Mr Snowden describes the British farmer as the survivor of mediaevalism and says: “The first essential for the revival of British agriculture is cooperation.”
