BEAUTIFUL MARINE CAVES
NEW AND EXTENSIVE SERIES DISCOVERED SOUTH OF TORY CHANNEL CBy Telegraph—Press Association) BLENHEIM, This Day. During the Christmas holidays a series of very beautiful and very extensive marine caves were discovered just south of Tory channel. Entrance is secured by small, almost concealed openings, but large launches can be taken right into the system. The main cave is described as having a very rugged roof presenting all the colours of the rainbow with wonderful stalactites in beautiful shades of white, green, red and brown with clear crystal, with wonderful blue and heliotrope shades and phosphorescent effects. The opinion of Mr P. R. W ilkinson. Commissioner of Crown Lands, is that the caves outrivaj the famous Jenolan and Waitomo, being of an entirely different nature. . Further exploration is being carried out. The discoverers were J. and CL Pernuo of WTiekanui, and Betty Lest, Ray Wilkinson, and John Best, ot Blenheim.
