The “Morning Herald” says the issue of 5,000,000 Treasury bills at 5 per cent, reveals that compared with the rate available for first-class commercial security Australia has been compelled to pay dearly for this six months’ accommodation. The market price for best paper, the “Herald” adds, is £2 6s 3d per cent., so that Australian credit, instead of improving, has grown worse, due possibly to the unsettled political outlook in the Federal sphere and the recent threats of inflation
