PHOSPHATE SHIP SAILS
MEMBERS OF CREW LEFT BEHIND ALLEGATIONS OF INFERIOR FOOD (By Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The phosphate ship Jane left Lyttelton at 10.5 a.m, yesterday for Dunedin, leaving behind several members of her crew, who allege that the food provided on the trip to Nauru last month was of inferior sort. The Jane was to have sailed on Wednesday, but the crew refused to work and some walked off the ship.
