Time, Nursery Handicap, of 250 sovs; five furlongs—l Golden Wings, 8.9 1; 2 St. Rogeiy 7.6 2; 6 Acis, 7.5 3. Nine starters. Won by a length, two lengths. Time, 60 2-5 seconds. Wairarapa Cup, of 700 sovs; one mile and a quarter- 8 Royal Parade, 7.1 1; 5 Shrewd, 7,8 2; 6 Stanchion, 7.21 3. Twelve starters'. Won by, 2 1-3 lengths, half .a jength. Time, 2.6 3-^. Champion Hack Handicap, of 300 sovs; one mile —2 Hawkshaw, 7.11 1> 1 Straight .Course, 8.2 2; 3 Tripping, 7.12 3. Nine starters. Won by three lengths, three lengths. Time, 1.39 45. Warded Handicap, of 300 sovs; seven furlongs—6 Maui, 7.9 1; 2 Noteworthy, 7.11.2; 7 Rameses, 7,7 3. Ten started. Won by one and a, half lengths, a neck. Wharekakaka Handicap, of 200 sovs; six furlongs—s Rady Rene, 8.11 1; 2 Baskier, 7.11 2; 1 Pi-xie Gold, 8.7 3. Fourteen starters, won by two lengths, half a length. Time, 1.13 2-5. Novice Stakes, of 150 sovs; seven furlongs—B Rotation, 8.7 1; 4 Gold Sand, 8.7 2; 7 Little Thursh, 8.7 3. Fourteen starters. Won by a length and a half, half a length. Time, 1.29 Totalisator investments amounted to £22,198, as against £29,994 for the first day last year.
