Not only did all of you, Sir, in spite of damage to your building, publish your valuable paper, without 'a break, during that trying period, but also met the heavy demand for extra copies, and also posted up and distributed free of charge, information received from outside areas. I feel sure the "latter move on the part of your-paper, must have been a great blessing to tho Murchison refugees, and that they were grateful for the same. I also feel that 1 am voicing tiie opinion of your many readers, residential and outside, when I !-zy our best thanks are due to all of you lor the excellent work do.ie during the trying period we have been through. I am, etc., "CONSTANT READER." Nelson, 6th August.

[We appreciate "Constant Reader's" expressions of thanks which have been supported personally by many others. We should like to take this opportunity of Paying a tribute to the splendid manner in which the whole staff of "Tho Mail"—mechanical, commercial and literary—"carried on" under exceptionally trying conditions. The strain was exceptionally severe during the first fortnight but the staff realised the great importance of assisting the paper to continue lo fulfil its duly to the public and enabled us not only to publish as usual but to issue innumerable "extras " Ed.—" The Mail."]
