A DEADLOCK
IN SETTLEMENT NEGOTIATIONS
SHANGHAI, 51 h August
The Nanking Foreign Office announces that Sino-Russian negotiations for a settlement of the Chinese eastern railway dispute have reached a deadlock, owing to the refusal of the Chinese to accept the Russian demand for the status quo management of the railway prior to the opening of negotiations.
