STOKE PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION
At the monthly meeting of the Stoke Progressive Association ' a letter was read from the Hon. 11. Atmore staling that he had recommended .Messrs Geo. Manson and Alfred Allport to the Minister O'f Justice for appointment as .Justices of (he Peace.
In connection with the water question a letter was read from the Hon. H. Atmon- stating that the Minister of Public Works had finalised the matter as far as his Department was concerned, and that the District Engineer had been instructed to arrange a conference of all the interested parties. As the letter contained in; definite information as to what had been done il was decided to' write to the District Engineer asking for further information. 11, was resolved oil the motion of Messrs Pickup and Powell that the County Council be written to drawing attention to the need for repairs on the Mental Hospital road ; also to the bad state o'f the back road.
