Both these lads showed a very good knowledge of the finer points of the game. Kerr (Hampden) and Patterson. (Auckland Point) also played creditable games. LADIES' RELAY RACE

FOR GREGG CHALLENGE CUP

The second annual competition for Gregg Challenge Cup caused considerable interest, and an exciting contest resulted. Teams of four runners entered as follows: Rewa, Riwaka (2), Kia Ora and Tarakohe. The first runners broke away to a good start, Misses Patterson (Rewa) and I. Young (Riwaka) setting a fast pace. Rewa secured a lead at the first change over, with Riwaka A and Kia Ora making desperate efforts to bridge the gap. The final 100 yards saw Miss E. vSmith (Rewa) out in the lead, with Misses Gre'gg (Kia Ora) and N. Fowler (Riwaka) in hot pursuit. Miss Smith maintained her advantage to the finish, but in the last few yards by a final desperate effort Miss Fowler snatched second position from Miss Gregg. The final platings were: Rewa 1, Riwaka A 2, Kia Ora 3. Rewa Club has been successful each occasion (hat the cup has been competed for. The members of the winning team were: [Misses E. Smith, 11. Patterson. J. P.oyce and R. Page. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVES The. junior representative team to play Marlborough J' at Blenheim on Saturday is as follows: —
