FLYING BOAT BREAKS LOOSE
PASSENGERS FLUNG OUT ON CROWD TWENTY-THREE PEOPLE SENT TO HOSPITAL (UaiUd Fran AMooUtioa-lr 11—Iria Tal—raph-Copyright) (Australian Preia Aiioclatlon) LONDON, 4th August. A flying boat broke loose at the pleasure ground at Southend while revolving at great speed. Passengers were flung out on top of a great crowd, which was transformed into a screaming struggling mass. Twelve persons from the flying boat were taken to hospital, also eleven from the crowd.
It is recalled that four people were killed in a similar accident at Margate last vear.
