STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE
ATTACK ON MINISTRY LONDON, 23rd July. Taking advantage of the presence in London of King Ktiad of Kgypt Oie Egyptian students in. Britain and on the Continent organised a demonstration against the Egyptian Government. The so-called Egyptian National Congress, now holding its annual session in London, passed a resolution denouncing The present unconstitutional .Ministry, which has crushed the country's liberties under a relentless dictatorship anil perpetrated a reign of terror for a whole year.”
The students, in a procession of 30 taxicahs, adorned with placards hearing the phrase: "Down with puppet dictatorship" and similar legends, visited the Egyptian Legation. There they deposited a petition in the terms of the resolution, addressed to King Fuad.
The Charge d'Affaires accepted the petition, and the congress later met at the Hotel Mctropole. Professor Makram Bey, the, chief speaker, especially attacked the Prime Minister. Mahmoiid Pasha, who is also at present in London. He said the police had recently searched the house of Madame Zaghlul, widow of the. former Prime Minister. "If a single hair of that august, lady is hurt it will be the end of dictatorships and dictators," he said.
