NELSON GOLF CLUB
WEEK END TOURNAMENT The Nelson Golf Club's usual August First Monday week-end tournament will commence to-morrow afternoon when the first round of the Flight Competitions will be played. The semi-finals will bo played on Monday morning and the finals in the afternoon.On Monday morning and afternoon a Bogey Handicap and Four-ball Bogey Handicap respectively will also ho played. For these events, players knocked out of the Flight Competition, will arrange their own partners and games. The following is the draw for the first round of the Flight Competition—--Ist Flight: Huggins v. Cock; Elliot v. N. A. Vercoe; Saunders v. E. Vercoe; Rout v. E. Reid. 2nd Flight: Lucas v. Cull; Fletcher v. P. Moore; Ralfe v. H. Dodds; J. A. Mitchell v. Campbell Smith. 3rd Flight: G. F. Dodds v. McLaren; Newman v. Charlton; A. L. Hume v. Rowe ; Milner v. Hobv. 4th Flight: Maunseil v. Bissct; Sinclair v. Wimsett; Allan v. J. X. Hume; Robison v. Devenish. sth Flight: Patton v. Wood; Dawson v. Marriott; Wright v. Cannington. FOUR-BALL KNOCK OUT COMPETITION This has now reached the final match in which P. Moore and Maunseil wi]l meet Rout and Harley. The competition provided many excellent games and has again proved'most popular. The Match Committee have decided to hold another similar competition, and entries for this are now being received. The Captain's Trophy competition is now well forward, and several Championship, Leggatt Cup and Cock Cup matches have also been played. Holes in one have been a regular occurrence this season, the perpetrators to date being Wright, E. Vercoe, Camp'bell Smith, Bisley and Hoby.
