THREATENED SHIPPING STRIKE
OWNERS NOT PERTURBED (United Press Association— By Electric Tolegraph—Copyright) .MELBOURNE, 31st July. The threatened strike of seamen is not worrying the shipowners, who declare that they intend to continue to exercise the right of free selection ot crews. Mr O’Neill, secretary of the Victorian branch of the Seamen s Union, claims that the owners had agreed with his organisation to give preference to its members.
