Workers throughout the State, as the result of the timber strike an 1 the Northern coalfields stoppage, both of which have been in progress for six months, have lost nearly £2,000,000 ,'n wages. I’lie dispute lias thrown 30,000 men out of employment. Unemployment relief is costing the Government £IO,OOO a week. Unions' have collected £70,000 m levies.
