ADVERTISING SCHEME
FARMERS' DISCUSSION. (By Telegraph—Special to “The Mail”) CHRISTCHURCH, 31st July. The necessity for having a co-opera-tive advertising scheme to keep up sales of wool was spoken of by the president of the Canterbury district of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union (Mr C. Mclntosh) at a meeting of the executive this afternoon. Mr Mclntosh referred to an Australian scheme for advertising wool as clothing material. ‘‘There certainly appears to be some need for advertising,'’ he declared. "L got in touch wi.lli Mr Hall and Mr \V. H. .Nicholson, of the Sheepowners’ Union, and found that body was seeking further information of the scheme. - ’ Another who liked the scheme was Mr J. JJ. Hall. He pointed out that many attractive materials competing with wool were advertised and were cutting into the sales of wool aIL the time. i A motion that the executive favoured a wool advertising scheme and would act with the Sheepowners’ Union in I lip question was passed.
