CITY BY-LAWS

(To the Editor) Sir,—Now that influenza is rife in our midst,, would it not be well for the City Council to enforce its by-law regarding expectorating on public footpaths? (I presume there is such a bylaw in. existence). All over the place one finds evidence of this unpleasant, and 1 may add distinctly dangerous habit, as there is no surer way of spreading disease. The "Rule' of- the Road" as regards footpaths should' also be enforced, and loiterers should not be encouraged to stand for an indefinite period at the street corners. Move them on. I am, etc., "ONLOOKER," Nelson, 30th July. '
