WOMAN DRIVEN TO SUICIDE
BY HUSBAND'S ILL-TREATMENT (By Telegraph—Press Association) GISBORNE, This Day. A verdict of suicide by drowning whilst in a stale of acute mental depression was returned by the coroner at the conclusion of the inquest into the death of Mrs Ellen Spivey (46), whose body was found in Mangapapa creek. "It seems that the cause of this unfortunate woman's death was undoubtedly the treatment she received from her hubatid," said the coroner, Mr P. 11. Harper, S.M. "As the result of his conduct and ihe loss of his affection her mind and health were so much affected that she took her own life and did not know what she was do ; ing,"
