REFUSAL TO OBEY ORDERS
LONDON CLERGYMEN BISHOP TAKES ACTION • .;" (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) > .-.? (Australian Pros* sssn ilttfcM) . LONDON, 29th July.' } ... The "Daily News" learns that the Bishop of London, owing to their atti- " tude in devotions connected with the reservation of the sacrament, has segregated the Anglo-Catholic clergymen R. B. Abell, vicar of St, Peter and St. Paul, Tedington, and J. E. Wacon, vicav of St. Albans, Fulham, whose, churches were reported to the Royal Commission on ecclesiastical discipline!'' : ' in July 1906. They are among twentyone London clergymen refusing to obey . the Bishop's directions. The segrega- . tion, which is similar to the Bishop of '' Birmingham's action in similar circumstances, does not stop services, but the '\ Bishop will not visit the church, there---fore confirmation will be impossible, also diocesan grants will cease, but it is presumed that Anglo-Catholics will provide .' the necessary finance. - ;• •-*_. Twenty-one clergy have strongly protested against the Bishop's alleged partiality. "We do not see how in some churches where devotions have been only insignificantly changed, your directions are being observed, especially .in those where ministers bow to the ment singing words oE praise."
