Chief Detective Carroll conducted the ease for tho police, and Air A. C. Hanlon, of Dunedin, appeared for the defence, with Mr ,7. Gleason. After a hearing which lasted until late in the afternoon, the Magistrate dismissed the information. A similar charge. against. Frank llrcar Clark, which was heard after Thomas's case, was also dismissed.
